Questions

• How much does it cost to record at Undercaste?

A 3-hour session with an engineer is $210 to $300. Everything is billed hourly, $70 to $100 an hour depending on the engineer we match you with. Every room is the same price. We may ask for a deposit of half at booking.

• Do different rooms cost different amounts?

No. Studios A, B and C are the same price with an engineer. What changes the price is the engineer and we match you with the right one for your project.

• Can I pick my engineer?

Tell us what you are working on and we match you with the engineer who fits it best.

• Is there a minimum?

Sessions with an engineer are 3-hour blocks. Shorter sessions usually bill as 3 hours, so text us your plan. Studio C self-serve has a 2-hour minimum.

• Is there a deposit?

We may ask for a deposit of half at booking, especially for newer clients and same-day or next-day sessions. It is not refundable within 48 hours of the session. A deposit paid earlier is refundable if you cancel with at least 48 hours notice.

Mixing, mastering and editing are billed by the hour, the same as recording: $70 to $100 an hour depending on the engineer. We do not have per-song prices.

• Can I rent the studio without an engineer?
